Gran Alacant is a Spanish area belonging to the municipality of Santa Pola, which is mainly made up of a group of urbanizations located on the Santa Pola promontory, between the mountain and the Carabasi beach. The 2012 census (INE) registered 11,095 inhabitants. Las Dunas del Carabassí, a virgin and well-kept natural space where the main beach of Gran Alacant is located, is an extensive beach of fine golden sand. The water is turquoise and crystal clear.
